[My Insights]: Short boy and the bell…

There was a bell at a height of around 6.5 feet in the beach. A bunch of boys were playing around. Boys who were little tall were able to jump and hit the bell. But there was one short boy. He shouted,” I want to hit the bell”, one tall boy came forward and told ‘come I will lift you”. But this short boy replied, “No, I want to hit that without any one’s help”. After saying that he ran from the place where other boys had marked to start of the running to hit the bell, he just fell down without hitting the bell. Other boys started laughing and teasing this short boy. Boy looked down with embarrassment and tears started running down his cheeks.
All of them started going towards home. This heavy headed short boy was taking slow steps at the end. After going some distance, he turned furiously and started running from there and jumped putting all his effort. This time he didn’t fall down, but was able to hit the bell. Hearing the bell sound all the boys turned and ran towards him, all the boys were jumping with joy. Boy wiped tears with his smile.
There was a clapping sound from other side also. It was from the couple sitting near by who were closely watching all this, were clapping and showed victory symbol to the boy. Boy went from there with the heart filled with joy. These lovers were sitting there since quite a long time. The silence was the only means of communication between them. Having no hopes about their future they were totally disturbed and were sitting there as if something has fallen on their heads. They had come there to commit suicide. But after watching that boy’s incident, they were able to put a smile on their face, broke the silence and decided to face the life with all the courage.
That’s how life is. We never know, about this life’s lesson, when, How, Where, From whom, Will it come. Ruk jaana nahin Tu kahin Haar ke…..song was lingering in the ears.
When we loose we should not take the step backwards, we should not loose the heart to fight. We have to try again with much better preparation. Put all that YOU HAVE IT in YOU.

“VICTORY IS NOT THE MEASURE OF THE POSITION WHERE YOU ARE, RATHER THAN IT IS THE AMOUNT OF OBSTACLES CROSSED BY YOU TO REACH THAT POSITION”

Sad news, which I had read few days back, on suicide committed by a PhD scholar in IIT Kanpur (http://in.rediff.com/news/2006/nov/06phd.htm) is the reason for me to write this article. It’s very sad that nowadays people are so easily getting into depression and resort to committing suicide as last attempt to free themselves from the problems.
